Top 11 Reasons to Start a Running Program

Whether you are considering beginning a running program or you are here looking for motivation, running is a great form of exercise. Let me tell you why. Here are the top 11 of the many reasons you should start a running program.

  1. Weight loss. I am not sure this is the most important reason, but it is certainly the most popular one. Many people start running to lose weight, but they keep running for many reasons.
  2. Lower risk of having a heart attack. There are many cardiovascular benefits to running.
  3. Increase in lung strength. Running will cause you to use more of your lung capacity. People who do not exercise do not use as much as 50% of their lung capacity.
  4. "Runners high". Runners experience a release of endorphins which improves their moods tremendously.
  5. Reduced risk of depression. Running has been shown to reduce the risk of depression. It may also help those already suffering from it.
  6. Live longer. Those who have an established form of exercise in their lives tend to live longer than those who do not.
  7. Prevent diabetes. Running can can to prevent and control diabetes as part of a lifestyle change.
  8. Lower blood pressure. It will increase the strength and elasticity of your arteries.
  9. Improved bone strength. If you do not create any stress on your bones, they will get weaker over time.
  10. Reduced risk of cancer. Studies have shown that physically active people are less likely to develop some types of cancer.
  11. Better sleep. If you suffer from insomnia or just can't seem to get a good night's sleep, running may help.

There you have it! Although there are probably many more reasons to start a running program, these should get your started. Get out those running shoes!

How do I stop Norton from checking running programs upon system startup? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
On every boot it slows down the system. It eventually pops up and tells me that all running programs are running normally. I do not want it checking my programs on every boot, if at all. I want to know if there is a setting inside of Norton that will stop it from checking the programs. I am pretty familiar with the options and cannot find anything. I do not want to disable Norton in the startup menu. I would have to start it up manually after booting and it would run the check at that time anyway, still interferring with my work.

How do you recover the toolbar which indicates all running programs? (Answers: 4) (Comments: 0)
I accidentally lost the toolbar portion which nests the running programs. What remains are the quick launch toolbar and other other extras. I like to refine the details to be exact. The task bar has several listed toolbar options, but nowhere is the toolbar for minimized programs. Yes, it can be hidden or popped-up, slid back and forth to fit the window, but the toolbar for minimized jobs is totally gone. I suspect that it had been erased. I wish to have it back.
