What should I wear in winter running?

I'm 15 years old, I ran 4 times a week but I had to stop running because of knee problems. So I got physiotherapy and now I can start running easily. When I'm totally recovered, I want to run 5 times a week, both intervals and long distance running.

What should I wear when it's 10 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees, 0 degrees or even -5 degrees?

And, should I wear tights or normal pants? I never tried tights, what would you do?

Thanks!

For your legs, once you get going they will be fine - but maybe you want to do a warm up indoors first to get them a bit warm. However most people I see running go for tights of some sort or just shorts. Check out your local ruining shop to see what they are selling.

More important to wear a top and long sleeves, gloves if its cold and a hat when it gets colder.

10 degree: You will get away with T shirt and Shorts but long sleeved T is better
5 Degrees: Start thinking about gloves and maybe a hat. Consider longer leg wear
9 degrees: Hat, gloves, long T, tights and keep your eyes peeled for ice.

You can always take a hat or gloves off and put them in a pocket.

Just make sure what your wearing won't make you hot when your running. If you start sweating a lot that means your dehydrated so take off some layers. Wearing leggings, tights, or under armor works because you can still move in them and they keep you warm. I'd recommend those. And if you are too cold than put on more layers. Wear gloves and hats too they make me a bunch more comfortable cuz i hate when my hands are cold during a run.

    Never wear normal pants

It should be something you find comfortable

Try Spandex with shorts if its not too cold

    Maybe a muscle shirt
(Here in California we do that)

for pants check out your sporting goods store for a pair of under armor spandex. they are expensive but they pay off in the long run. no pun intended (=. most people wear a normal shirt and sweatshirt but i perfer underarmor sweat shirts for running because they breathe and break the wind nice.
