I recommend eating a banana or two along with an ounce of almonds between an hour and two hours prior to running. The potassium in those foods can help with muscle pain and the energy availability is great. It's also a good idea to hydrate regularly.

just keep a good pace don't try to out run the people in the front that are going to fast cause they will get tired faster then on the down hill strech your legs while running and on the up hills take deep breaths and try to stay light on your feet finaly try to run fast on the last 1/4 lap

    good luck

Do some yoga stretches like the triangle. Like Mr.Peachy said eat plenty of potassium and hydrate regularly. Keep an even pace and so you don't feel bad about the people in front of you, try to find someone with the same pace of you. To make you less tired slowly go from jogging to running to walking and then finally to jogging. Keep practice running too. The pains might be because you aren't stretching enough in that area, but I would see a doctor about it.
